Appreciating nature and encountering living creatures
As a host and as someone who feels a connection to Tyrol's natural surroundings, I love where I live. Nature gives us a sense of tranquillity, and it is only here that I can be, and find myself. In the Walchsee region we have plenty of lovely "nooks" that look like they are right out of a picture-book. It is this appreciation of nature and its creatures that I want to pass on to my guests, in these times of stress, fast pace and upheaval. Living in the here and now and taking time to be calm. Indeed not just in the way we live but also with regard to our future, I feel I have a responsibility to preserving the area where I live. That is why I chose to refurbish my parents' business with natural materials, which not only has a positive effect on the natural surroundings but is also great for my guests' minds.

The hotel's wonderful facade

As a landlord it is important to me that it is almost exclusively regional produce that is used! Cooking honestly and with conscience, respecting animals and nature. That is why the fish, meat, game and sausages that I use come from Kitzbühel, which means I am able to guarantee that the animals have been reared by farmers in this region.
The Walchseer Hof - one of the most sustainable and environmentally-aware businesses in the Kaiserwinkl region. Refurbishment work started in 2009 with the aim of providing guests with environmentally-sound and sustainable comfort, for a well-being holiday that could be enjoyed with a clear conscience.
Sustainable business practices have long featured here - the hotel has been family-managed since 1934 and was one of the first to install solar facilities on the roof.
